Hello Marine Surveyors! I have been a Marine Surveyor for almost ten years now, working mostly “pre-purchase” in and around the San Francisco area. I have decided that it’s time to change-up my approach a bit as to date I’ve been going about things “the old fashioned way” and am looking for some guidance... ...from those of you that have experience and or knowledge to share where the utilization of computers software are concerned. I’m thinking (and hoping) that this might go a long way in reducing redundant (currently manual) data entry and streamlining my processes in general. So far I have explored several applications but most noteworthy would be: www.force5.org and http://www.3dinspection.com/products/marine.html. Currently I’m leaning heavily in the direction of the former (www.force5.org) in that “3D inspection) seems to have been adapted for marine surveying while www.force5.org seems to have been geared specifically for marine surveying, has been around far longer and has a more extensive database of users http://server.vistion.com/force56/index.php/Registered-Users.html) which is a real selling point for me. Any thought from fellow surveyors would be greatly appreciated! |
